You can now print a web page or save it as a PDF without leaving ChatGPT. The PrintFriendly plugin is available in ChatGPT today: paste a link, ask for a clean copy, and you get the page without the ads, pop-ups and navigation, ready to print or save.
How to use it
When you start a ChatGPT prompt with "@PrintFriendly", ChatGPT surfaces the plugin in your chat and uses the context to do the task. The first time you use it, ChatGPT asks you to connect, so you can see what data is shared before anything happens.
Then just paste a link and say what you want:
- "PrintFriendly, print this recipe without the ads."
- "PrintFriendly, save this article as a PDF."
- "PrintFriendly, show me this page without the pop-ups."
A clean preview appears right in the chat, with Print and Download PDF buttons.
Tidy it before you print
Open the preview full screen and make it exactly what you want. Click away any part of the page you don't need, make the text smaller or larger, hide the images, or switch between Letter and A4 paper. Print and Download PDF use exactly what you see.
No account needed to start
You can print five pages without signing in. After that, the plugin in ChatGPT asks you to sign in to your PrintFriendly account, or create one, and you keep going. PrintFriendly only receives the address of the page you ask about, not the rest of your chat.
PrintFriendly works the same way on printfriendly.com and in our browser extensions for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Now it is in ChatGPT too.
