PrintFriendly now works with Zapier
PrintFriendly is on Zapier. Seven ready-made Zaps save new feed items, bookmarks and posts as PDFs, Word files or Notion pages, and you can build your own.
You find a good article, a new post from a blog you follow, or a page you bookmark, and you want a clean copy of it somewhere you keep things. PrintFriendly joined Zapier in October 2026, so a Zap can now make that copy for you every time, as a PDF, a Word file or a Notion page.
Seven Zaps to start from
Pick one below and click Use this workflow. Each has three steps: the app that starts the Zap, PrintFriendly, and the place the result goes. PrintFriendly keeps the article and leaves out the ads, menus and pop-ups.
- Five save pages as PDFs: new RSS feed items to Google Drive or emailed with Gmail, new Raindrop.io bookmarks to Dropbox, new WordPress posts to Google Drive, and Feedly Read Later articles to OneDrive.
- One makes Word files: add a web page address in a new Google Sheets row, and the page lands in Google Drive as a Word file.
- One makes Notion pages: favorite a bookmark in Raindrop.io, and the article becomes the text of a new Notion page.

Set one up
- Sign in to PrintFriendly and open your API Key page. Copy your key. If you do not have one yet, click Get your free API key.
- Click Use this workflow next to a template above.
- When Zapier asks you to connect PrintFriendly, paste your key.
- Connect the other two apps, check each step, and turn the Zap on.
What you need
- A paid Zapier plan. Zapier's free plan only runs two-step Zaps, and every template above has three steps.
- A PrintFriendly API key. The free plan includes 100 documents a month and needs no credit card. Each conversion that works uses one document.
- A public page. PrintFriendly reads the version of a page anyone can see. A page behind a login or a paywall can come back empty or partial.
Build your own
The PrintFriendly step is called Convert to Document. Give it a web page address, some HTML or some Markdown, and pick PDF, Word, Markdown, HTML, plain text or JSON. For a very long page, set Run in the background to True and collect the file later with a Find Job step. PrintFriendly for Zapier walks through each example step by step and covers common errors.

Each PrintFriendly step that works uses one document from your plan. A step that fails does not. Connecting your account in Zapier never uses one.
